ACCA Sustainability for Finance Certificate Program

Our Valuable Members and Stakeholders,

Within the scope of the cooperation between ACCA and the Integrated Reporting Association Turkey (ERTA), the ACCA Sustainability for Finance Certificate Program, the detailed contents of which are shared with you in the annex, will start to be offered under advantaged terms for ERTA members. Valid until 31 March 2023, our members who will register for the program through the special discount code provided to ERTA members within the scope of this cooperation will receive a 20% discount on the certificate program.

ACCA Sustainability for Finance Certificate Program

ACCA, which provides professional and technical training and support to its candidates and members on combating climate change and sustainability and regularly publishes global professional research reports that guide the industry on these issues, shared the ACCA Certificate in Sustainability for Finance with the business world in September 2021.  The ACCA Certificate in Sustainability for Finance is designed for finance and accounting professionals to better understand sustainability and its impact on organizations and their roles in this regard. Program participants will develop their professional knowledge and skills in sustainability and play a role in optimizing the value generated by the finance and accounting function and creating sustainable businesses.

Key Features of the Certificate Program:

• No prior knowledge/requirements are required to start the certificate program.
• The language of instruction of the certificate program is English.
• The certificate program takes 16 hours in total to complete.
• The certificate program consists of 5 modules.

Module titles are

• Introduction to sustainability for finance and accounting professionals
• Climate risk and reporting for finance and accounting professionals
• UN Sustainable Development Goals and their impact on finance and accounting professionals
• Environmental, Social and Governance ESG issues, metrics and performance for finance and accounting professionals
• Sustainability analytics for finance and accounting professionals
  • The modules include lectures, illustrations, diagrams, charts, graphs, videos, quizzes, case studies and interviews, as well as external links for more information on the topics.
  • Those who enroll in the certificate program have access to all courses for 6 months.
  • At the end of the certificate program, there is a 25-question online test exam.
  • Participants who complete all modules and successfully complete the evaluation by answering 50% of the questions in the online test correctly are entitled to receive a certificate.
  • Participants have the right to repeat the assessment exam at the end of the program 3 times. Participants who are not successful in 3 attempts must purchase the certificate program again and complete the assessment.

At the end of the program, participants will:

• Understand why sustainability is important for finance and accounting professionals, businesses and economies,
• Evaluate sustainability and related business value chains, business models and business practices,
• Will be able to identify the risks posed by climate change, the financial implications of these risks and understand the reporting frameworks for climate change risk disclosures,
• Will have knowledge about the UN Sustainable Development Goals, their importance for businesses and the risks, opportunities and impact they present to businesses,
• Will be able to explain why Environmental, Social and Governance ESG issues are important for their businesses, and will be able to evaluate the systems and processes for collecting, analyzing and reporting ESG information,
• Describe why sustainability analytics is important for their business and evaluate the approach to aggregating, analyzing and interpreting ESG data.
